The TEFL Wales weekend course gives you the qualification to find paid English teaching jobs abroad.

The TEFL Wales weekend course has been written with the first time teacher in mind. The course contains all the methodology of English Language Teaching and packs it into one fun and practical weekend.

We run courses at locations throughout Wales, so you can find a date and location convenient for you. The courses run 9am - 8pm on Saturday and 9am - 6pm on Sunday.

You will be participating right from the start, so don't worry you won't be behind a desk for 20 hours!

Saturday (9am  - 8pm) Warmers - Getting to know each other

Classroom management - Arranging the classroom and managing your students

Getting your students to speak - Getting your students to talk using pictures, mime and gesture

A foreign language lesson - You'll be put in the shoes of a language beginner

Practice activities - Ideas for effective and fun activities

Games - Using games to their full effect in the classroom

Functions - Teaching everyday English words and phrases

Lesson planning, preparation & practice - How to plan, prepare and deliver your first TEFL lesson

Sunday (9am - 6pm) Understanding the needs and levels of students - Assessing new students and understanding different levels of students.

Pronunciation - The sounds, stress, intonation & rhythm of the English language.

Correcting errors & mistakes - Different ways to correct

Teaching reading and listening skills - How to teach reading & listening in the classroom

Understanding grammar - An simple look into tenses (Warning! Includes fun).

Your second mini teaching practice - Another chance to put into practice what you have learnt on the course.

Finding TEFL work abroad - How to find your first teaching English job
